The Provincial Nominee Program is for foreign workers who want to become permanent residents of Canada and have the skills and education to contribute to a province (or territory) and wish to live in that province. Each province establishes its own streams and defining criteria.
The IRCC established the Start-up Visa program to entice entrepreneurs and innovative thinkers.
To qualify for the program, your business idea must be supported by a designated organization. There are 3 categories of designated organizations:
● Venture capital funds
● Angel investor groups
● Business incubators
The organization will review your proposal and if it believes that you have an innovative idea that will create jobs for Canadians and compete on a global scale, they will provide you with a Letter of Support.
In addition to securing a letter of support, you will have to complete a language test and demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to immigrate to Canada.
